Antique French Style Chair Makeover

I saw this chair for sale on my OfferUp App on my phone. It’s dangerous checking your Apps and Craigslist! 😉

It had this animal print fabric on it, and I wanted it to be more neutral so I got my paint out. I know big surprise right… Ha! Ha!

If the chair looks familiar to you it’s because in my previous blog post I showed the same style chair but in black. I purchased the two chairs from the same lady, and she reupholstered them in two different fabrics. She sold this chair to me cheaper than the other one, because it was not as sturdy as the black one. It’s an antique chair though so that’s to be expected.

She was only asking $25. for the chair, and I asked her if she would take $15. for it since I knew it needed some TLC.

She said she would take $15. for it, and so I was excited to get it for a good price. Who doesn’t like getting a good deal?

Below is a before picture of the chair. This is what it started out looking like before I got my paint out.

Here is the after picture below. I used the RUST-OLEUM chalk paint from Home Depot. The color I used is called “linen white”. I only painted the fabric and the nail heads on the upholstery. I left the chair legs the way they were, because I was happy with the color and finish on them.

I’m happy with how this chair makeover turned out. I’m such a sucker for curvy legs on the french style chairs:-)

For now it sits next to my french gray provincial hutch. Below is another picture I took after discovering how cute this french pillow looked sitting on the chair.
